Positions

ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for an energetic, dedicated, passionate and highly motivated individual to join our Accounting team.  This position is responsible for maintaining and analyzing accounting records for The Sporting Club in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) of the United States.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package for management
  • Maintain accurate and thorough accounting records
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal, state and city regulations regarding accounting and payroll
  • Manage and process the following accounting functions: accounts receivables, accounts payable, cash disbursements, payroll, point of service, inventory management, member account coordination, trial balance, financial statements, cash flow analysis and budget
  • Reconcile daily cash drops and deposit it to the bank
  • Maintain working knowledge of all club software: Peachtree, CSI and MS Office
  • Review AP activities: purchase orders, invoices, cash disbursements, reconciliation of vendor accounts to ensure accuracy and daily production in each area
  • Ensure that all bank statements are reconciled monthly and working cash flow is reviewed and analyzed daily
  • Provide and support for the annual budget process and assist with compilation.
  • Maintain GL analysis schedules
  • Produce daily reporting as directed by General Manager
  • Produce monthly depreciation schedule
  • Maintain accurate excel spreadsheets and schedules in order to provide reporting for billing, accounts receivable and membership numbers
  • Participate in annual audit, prepare year end 1099s and file monthly sales tax return.
  • Ability to grow professional relationships with internal and external contacts, vendors and contractors
  • Excellent ability to plan, execute, negotiate, communicate, lead, organize and problem solve
  • Ability to work without direction
  • Perform other duties as needed


Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Two or more years professional accounting experience required
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Proficient use and experience working with accounting systems
  • Ability to proficiently use and learn computer hardware and software programs, including MS Office, CSI and Peachtree
  • Excellent customer service skills, professionalism and discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent dependability and reliability
  • Ability to prioritize and successfully execute projects


Essential Functions

MEMBER SERVICE AGENT/SPA CONCIERGE/OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue is looking for energetic, knowledgeable, passionate, highly motivated individuals to work in a variety of departments providing support to our front desk, retail spa and operations team.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides courteous, professional service and information to members, guests, prospects, staff, tenants and vendors

  • Ensure that the club is operating in accordance to established policies and procedures
  • Ensure members/guests needs are met and addressed timely
  • Maintain spa area and the scheduling of spa services
  • Oversee scheduled staff members

  • Handles payment transactions for Sporting Club programs, fees and merchandise
  • Provides excellent customer service throughout all aspects of the position

PERSONAL TRAINER

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue is looking for energetic, passionate, career minded individuals who are
interested in joining our Personal Training team. Our facility has a very successful history of stability and
growth, which includes a professionally staffed and highly successful personal training program supported
by a 10,000 square foot state of the art fitness floor.


Primary Responsibilities

  • To develop personal training clients through current membership.
  • Provide personal training services to new Club members.
  • Responsible for reviewing client medical histories and program goals, designing individual exercise programs to meet those goals, implementing exercise programs, instructing and supervising work outs on a one­ on ­one basis.


Position Requirements

  • Must have a college degree, preferably in a health and science related field
  • Must be ACSM, ACE, NASM, or CSCS certified
  • Must be CPR/AED Certified
  • Must be willing to obtain other certifications as required
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the Fitness Industry
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule which includes providing coverage on the fitness floor for opening and closing shifts
  • Proficient use of computer hardware and software programs

HOUSEKEEPING / JANITORIAL

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue is looking for experienced, knowledgeable housekeepers/janitorial staff to provide moderate cleaning of upscale fitness and athletic health club.

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue is the leading premier health and fitness facility in the Philadelphia region. Located at the historic Bellevue building in the heart of Center City and connected to the luxurious Hyatt at The Bellevue hotel, The Sporting Club serves a diverse client base consisting of local city residents, professionals and tourists.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
  • Gather and empty trash
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
  • Clean windows and mirrors
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets
  • Polish/dust mop basketball court floor, racquetball/squash courts and studio floors
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Ensure the cleanliness, order and tidiness of the entire facility


Position Requirements

  • Must have experience in the janitorial field and provide references
