Peter Zapalo
Peter has a M.S. in Exercise Physiology with a background in Molecular Biology, Biomechanics and Sports Medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University where he wrote software used to analyze elite figure skaters and went on to work with several Olympic medalists, including Olympic Champions Tara Lipinski and Sarah Hughes. He has also worked professionally with the NHL Calgary Flames and the Men’s and Women’s National Hockey teams, a multitude of other sports, and recently 2008 Olympic medalist Tracy Cameron. He also works as a technical analyst for ABC/ESPN Sports.

Here at The Sporting Club, Peter focuses on bringing an integrated approach of solid training methods and realistic goals to his clients, particularly in the areas of weight and obesity management, post-PT rehabilitation, pre-natal exercise, and other “special needs.” He emphasizes strong basic technique and a consistent routine as keys to success. He believes a workout should be physically and mentally interesting, in maintaining excellent core and cardiovascular conditioning, and above all, that enjoying being physically active is essential to having a healthy and long life. Peter is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine.
